Official website for the Photography Society at the University of Exeter

Here’s some of what we offer:

Trips and Walks

Our trips will be exciting opportunites to go out of Exeter and take photos of nature, cities, wildlife, art and other exciting subjects. We are planning to run at least one trip abroad!

As any good society on campus, Photosoc loves to make friends. Whether you’re a comitted member or just want to have a good time with photo-lovers, come along!

We offer a range of workshops to improve your skills, from beginners DSLR to more specialised topics such as fashion or landscape photography. These usually take the form of a presentation and discussion with an experienced photographer followed by a practical session.

The society owns several tripods, studio lights and flashes, as well as some cameras and lenses. This equipment will be available to members during the workshops, as well as for hire.

Members of the society have access to our dark room in Cornwall House, and the society will provide the materials and chemicals you need for developing film of all types.

The best way to improve your photography skills is to take photos (duh!) so we run occasional competitions! These vary in frequency with demand but are great fun for both participants and judges!
